It's New Year's Eve

Today is New Year's Eve! Peter & I are enjoying the day off together. He is powerwashing our fence & right now Olivia and I are watching a marthon on TNT of our favorite show - Law & Order.
The DIRECTV receiver is on overload from all the bowl games Peter has autotuned for later today and tomorrow! We are amazed and very happy the Alabama won their bowl game last night.
I have to work tomorrow, so I won't be participating in any late night festivities tonight. I hope everyone has a great time tonight and most importantly stays safe. I'l post some pictures of Olivia celebrating ringing in the new year later.

Happy New Year!!!

Bellingrath Magic Christmas in Lights

We took Olivia to see the Christmas lights at Bellingrath this past Friday night. We had great weather, especially since it had rained a couple of nights during the week. The Browning clan went with us and I think everyone had a great time. Olivia really was amazed by all the lights and had her mouth open in amazement most of the time. The biggest news of the night was Olivia gave Andrew (who she has been a little scared of - we think because he is so tall and has a deep voice) a hug and kisses at the end of the night!! It was wonderful!! I think Andrew was secretly very happy, even though he acted like it was no big deal.

Enjoy some of the pictures of the lights!!

Christmas in the Park

We took Olivia to the sculpture park in front of the hospital when she came to visit me at work a couple of weekends ago. We had wonderful weather and she really enjoyed the statues. She tried to grab hats off all the statues the entire time. (They had already decorated the park for Christmas.)

"Pasghetti"

Olivia had her first meal of spaghetti. She really enjoyed it as you can tell by the pictures. I found noodles all over her, even in the back of her hair. I hope y'all enjoy the pictures.

Olivia Racked Up!!

Between Santa, the Browning's and the Ford's, Olivia really racked up for Christmas. She received lots of fabulous gifts including books, bath toys, clothes and other toys. I am going to be posting some pictures of her and her loot. We hope everyone had a great Christmas. We were lucky enough to start off our day with mass at the Cathedral. After that we went on to my parent's house for Christmas lunch. After a great traditional lunch and visiting we headed to the Ford's. There we had another round of opening presents and gumbo. YUM!! I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and I will have more to come!

Our House - Part 2

Here are the pictures of our house after the 8 foot Santa went up on the roof!! My goal is to improve on it each year and eventually have it resemble the home on Christmas Vacation!! Clark Grisewald is my hero!! :) I have also put some pictures up of our tree. Enjoy!!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas...

Well, we have almost finished decorating the house for Christmas. We still have to put Santa on the roof and decorate the tree we got at Home Depot last night. I'm posting some pictures of our house and will post more once it is completed!

Forward Facing

I put one of Olivia's new car seats in my car today. (They arrived by UPS Friday and because I work weekends, today was the first day I could intall it.) After a visit to the fire station for assistance with the top tether of the LATCH instillation system, Olivia had her first ride in her new car seat facing forward!!! The pattern is called OLIVIA. :) I like it for it's appearance and it was on sale for approx $70-$75 cheaper than I could find in stores. Plus because I bought it online, I didn't have to pay taxes or shipping! It was really a great deal. It also helped that the pattern was her name!! I'm posting a website picture of her car seat. I'll take some pictures of her in it and past them later.

Elf Yourself...

The Elf Yourself website is back! I've used it to create some elves. Check them out. They're very funny!!

I need to create some with my face, Peter's & other family member's faces!!! Check back for more elves!!!

Work, work, work...

Well, this past weekend was so busy. I have no clue where all these pregnant women are coming from... On Friday we had no empty beds on our postpartum floor to move our delivered patients to. I also was unable to find a way to work out a swap this week, so I'm working Thanksgiving. I was hoping I would be able to be off on Thanksgiving, but it is more important someone be with Olivia. Oh well...

Olivia is more mobile and very stable on her feet. She has mastered transitioning from sitting to standing without crawling over to an object and pulling up! It is so amazing to see her progress.

I will post some pictures of Olivia in her Thanksgiving dress. (I picked a really cute brown dress with a turkey embroidered on it at a consignment sale.)

Have a great week!!

Back to the Grindstone

Well, I go back to work tomorrow after having last weekend off for Olivia's birthday. I really, really enjoyed my weekend off!! I have no desire to go back to work...

As of right now, I have Thanksgiving off from work. However, I am trying to find someone to swap work days with me, so I may end up having to go to work. Say your prayers and keep your fingers crossed that someone is kind enough to trade with me so that I can still enjoy Thanksgiving at home!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

One Year Well Baby Checkup

Olivia had her one year well baby checkup this morning. She weighed in at 23 pounds and is 30 inches long. Getting her length was very challenging. She didn't like being stretched out against her will. (She may actually be a little longer/shorter than 30 inches... who knows!) Anyway, Olivia is officially old enough and weighs enough to be forward facing in a big girl car seat. YEAH!!! As soon as it arrives she goes in it. She also got 3 shots today and didn't mind the shots as much as being held down. She does NOT like being contained. Right now she is sleeping after I was rude and made her get up at 8 AM for an 8:30 appt. I will out some pictues up of her in her big girl car seat as soon as it arrives. Take care everyone and have a great week!

Post Party Thoughts

Yesterday was Olivia's party and we had a wonderful time. I really didn't have too much cleaning to do after my mom and Peter's mom stayed and helped. (That was much appreciated!) I finished washing the dishes today and picked up all her presents. I think I'm going to let her have another go at her mini cake today and try to get some more pictures. After that... it goes in the trash. Thanks again to everyone for making her first birthday very special.
On another note, Olivia will be sharing her birthday with our neighbor and friend's baby, Morgan. We could not think of a better person to share a birthday with other than Amy and Mark's new baby girl!
Welcome Morgan!!

Olivia's Party

Well after all the planning, cleaning and cooking, her party is over!! We had such a wonderful time. A huge thank you to all our family and friends who came to celebrate with us. Olivia did very well and was in a pretty good mood for most of her party. She received lots of very nice toys, books and clothes as presents. The food was wonderful and there was plenty to eat! We also want to thank everyone who brought a dip or dish! The pictures of her hands after eatting her cake say it all. She loved the pink icing on her mini cake. She is very worn out after it all. She and daddy are sleeping on the couch right now while I post these pictures. I'll write more tomorrow and give more details.Thank you again to all who took time out of your weekend to celebrate her first birthday. We really appreciate all of y'all!!

Her Personal Cake.

It took Olivia a few minutes to figure out her cake.

She loved the pink icing.

I asked her to show me her hands...
(She got a quick bath after this and before opening presents!)

The great cake we had from Sam's.

Her Elmo from her Aunt Holley.

Olivia received a pound puppy from Peter's grandmother.
It is so cute and Olivia loved it.
(She is crazy about dogs!!)
