Cute Clothes

One of the girls I work with has a friend named Jerica Rossi. She makes the most adorable children's clothes. I have been checking out the website and really want to purchase some things. I thought since I have some many friends with small children, I would share this amazing webite. Check it out!!

She offers trunk shows and I am considering hosting one. Please let me know if you are interested in attending a trunk show. I am going to post a few pictures of the outfits from her website.

Ready for the Boom Boom!

Mardi Gras has officially started. We have not taken Olivia to any parades yet, but plan on attending some of the Fairhope parades, barring bad weather of course. She loved the Daphne Christmas parade we took her to back in December and they didn't even have colorful floats. The Fairhope parades should really impress her! Check back for pictures in the next couple of weeks!

Old Pictures

I found some older pictures on my camera phone of Olivia and thought it would be funny to post them for comparison sake. It is amazing to see how much she has changed. She has so much more hair now, too!!

Back to Normal... Well Almost

Well, almost exactly one week later, Olivia is pretty much back to normal. The only sign that she was ever sick is a slight runny nose and a tiny pitiful cough. She is beginning to run around the room again and is back to "talking" up a storm. 14 months is a long time to have been blessed with a well, healthy child. Maybe we can go another 14 months if we are lucky!! I know one thing for sure, I certainly have no desire to watch her suffer from not feeling well anytime soon.
It was horrible to see her not feel well and know the only thing I could do was treat the symptoms as best as I could because what she had was viral. Once again it reminded me why I can't work with pediatric patients... I hate seeing kids suffer!!
Mardi Gras is about to start, so we should be posting some pictures of her at a few parades in a couple of weeks. We will be hitting the ones in Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort, while staying away from the ones in Mobile. We have "prepped" Olivia by taking her to the Christmas parades in Daphne and Fairhope and think she will enjoy the big colorful floats. She seemed to enjoy all of it except when the police cars went by to move the "crowds" back. We'll see how she does!
Have a great weekend!!

Olivia Dancing

I took some video of Olivia dancing last weekend before she got sick. The child loves music!
Maybe she'll be a professional dancer!!!

Following Up After the Doctor

I took Olivia to the doctor late this afternoon and am happy to report, whatever she has is viral (like the flu). Her ears are not infected and her congestion is limitied to the nose/throat area and is not down in her lungs. I still hate that she feels bad, but am very thankful she has never had an ear infection. Hopefully she will bounce back in a couple of days.

Olivia vs The Flu

Well, it is official... after almost 14 months, Olivia is sick for the first time. I am guessing she got the flu bug from me. She crawled up in my lap last night and was being very sweet. (This made me very suspicious because if Olivia is awake, she wants to be down running around.) I checked her temp and found out she had a fever & was getting very congested. She was so miserable that she didn't get much sleep. I had to sit propped up on the couch for her to get comfortable during the night and stop crying. After multiple doses of tylenol, popsicles, juice, cool rags & a couple of baths, she finally fell asleep around 9 this morning.

I am taking her to the doctor late this afternoon to let her look at Olivia's ears and make sure she doesn't an ear infection too! I will post an update as to what the doctor says. Pray she feels better... I hate to see her so miserable.

Flu Season is Here (Especially at the Ford House!)

Last weekend at work, we ran a flu clinic in the screening room. As a result, I seemed to have caught a flu bug. It started on Thursday with a sore throat & by Friday I had a full blown case... a fever of 101.6 f, body aches & a terrible head ache. I had a flu shot again this year, so hopefully this won't last the 3 or 4 days it usually does. I tried to go to work this morning, but after arriving, I went right back home with a fever. I have done nothing today except sleep and drink tons of liquids. Not exactly a fun way to spend a weekend.
On another note, Olivia received some Care Bears from one of my coworkers, Amy. They are interactive and sing together. Olivia really likes them. I will try to get some pictures soon & post them when I feel better.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend!
